ONTARIO HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION: (H.A.O.O.)
Featured speaker at their annual convention for 2 consecutive years
AIR CANADA:
Speaker at “Impact 99” for Human Resource Managers, sponsored by Air Canada in Chateau Laurier, Ottawa. Consultant – counseling through E.A. P. (Employees Assistant Program) and a training program for those involved in the disaster contingency program. Only speaker to be invited two conferences in a row after receiving a standing ovation.
TORONTO DOMINION BANK AND TRUST:
Seminar for senior management on the impact of grief on clients.
CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF FINANCIAL PLANNERS
Speaker at the Canadian Association of Financial Planners annual conference in Toronto. Dr Webster conducts many educational seminars for financial consultants, lawyers and accountants, as well as their clients. Many use his personalized books and resource materials from the Centre for the Grief Journey to distribute to clients.
VICTORIA ORDER OF NURSES:
Two full day seminars on understanding and dealing with grief, particularly in a palliative setting.
MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION:
Conducted “grand round” seminars in Whitby and in Fort Erie
VICTIM SERVICES – PEEL:
Ongoing training program. In addition to giving education in the area of grief and trauma to staff members, Dr. Webster is often invited to assist victims after complicated situations of loss and grief.
CLERGY AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOP DAYS:
Numerous Seminars. Commendations and reference on file.
SOCIAL WORKERS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:
Conducted a 2 day training programme at St Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto, for social workers and mental health practitioners.
DOROTHY LEY HOSPICE – Etobicoke/Toronto:
Dr. Webster has conducted seminars as well as being involved in counseling situations. Many people attend his grief support program, referred by the hospice.
ONTARIO CENTRE FOR PSYCHOTHERAPY:
Facilitated a two weekend program on “crises and grief counseling”
BRIERCREST SEMINARY – Regina:
Facilitates a weeklong master’s level course on “crisis and grief counseling”, which is repeated each academic year. Dr. Webster also conducts seminars in Regina, including a 2-day seminar for professionals sponsored by the Regina Family Therapy Centre.
CRISIS COMMUNITY CENTRE – Erskine, Scotland:
The Centre for the Grief Journey has a strategic alliance with CRISIS, and Dr. Webster is a Clinical Director of the Centre, as well as a frequent speaker at the annual Erskine Conference for professional counselors and caregivers.
VAUGHAN FIRE DEPARTMENT:
Training programs for firefighters, specifically in dealing with trauma situations and victims.
PEEL REGIONAL POLICE:
Training programs on strategies for notification of next of kin after accidents, traumatic and critical incidents. Also, referrals for counselling and support programs after critical incidents.
TELECARE (BRAMPTON):
Training programs for volunteers who answer the distress line phones
ONGOING GRIEF SUPPORT PROGRAMS:
Dr. Bill Webster also facilitates ongoing grief support programs in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Orangeville, Bolton, Oshawa, and Kitchener.
